Previously unreleased, 'Verwüstete Landschaften' is the very first demo I ever recorded as Vordb! It was recorded in France during the cold month of December 1991, with very little equipment (I did nor even have a multitrack recorder!). This demo, which proposed rather unusual sounds for an artist with a metal background (classic guitar, cello, synth, use of the French and German languages, invention of my 'own languiage, Gloatre'...) was the basis of what I would call later my 'research laboratory'. It was actually created as 'Vordb Báthor Ecsed', and later labelled as Moévöt, when I understood that my creativity would be quantitatively too important to be released under a single name, and that I would have to create several 'projects' to cover all the areas of my research. I never considered this demo complete, rather like a draft. 'Abgzvoryathre' (Moévöt, 1993) was the first demo that I would consider complete and would officially release. But in 1994, due to my unsatisfied nature, I would come back to these early pieces, fill the gaps in the story with additional songs, remix everything and release the complete work as 'Ézlèyfbdrèb Vèpréub Zuèkl Mazagvatre Èrbsédréa'. Interestingly, I though nobody would be interested in this demo, but fate decided otherwise, and it actually became one of my most famous works, and even some sort of gem for some musicians and listeners in the following generations...

As 2024 is the 30th anniversary of ÉVZMÈ', I think it is now time to tell all the story behind this demo, and do justice to 'Verwüstete Landschaften', the very work that led to it and started my Journey as Vordb!
